This new sign seems to be saying “Your vehicle could slide out of control if you are traveling along WITH NO DRIVER!!” I found these backwards signs in Oregon. GO figure, Oregon of all places. :)

Those of you that have been to this blog know I normally do not post political writings but with my growing frustration over our choices and the turmoil in this upcoming presidential election I had to say my piece. I will likely say more too.
As most of you know, I am conservative. I hang somewhere as a moderate because I do actually agree with “some” liberal views but not many. I also do not agree with all conservative views.

I called this post “The Lesser of Three Evils?” based on something that someone close to me said and it hit the spot exactly. McCain, Clinton or Obama? Good grief, we have no decent choice at all do we? Of all the guys that started out on the republican side, most all were a better choice then John McCain! I know there had to be some interference from the liberals on McCain making it in as our Republican nomination. Practically every republican I have spoken to does not like the guy based on his political history. Yet, here he is, our conservative (?) choice. I won’t get into too many details here so lets take a small look at our choices.

McCain: Registered as a republican but I don’t think he truly is. Votes as a liberal most of the time. Is said to “cross the isle” to get things done but it really comes down to “caving” on conservative principles instead. You don’t work with the opposition party by giving up on what you believe in. Unless of course you actually do believe what they do… which makes you one of them doesn’t it? Oh and can you say Amnesty for Illegals? You can bet the flood gates will get opened wide if he gets in.

Clinton: I don’t have a problem with a woman becoming president but not this woman. Much bigger government spending more of our money then ever before will become the standard with this woman. The “Queen Bee” will raise taxes to pay for more social programs to keep more people dependent on government. Just the way the Democrats like it. Universal Health Care for everyone? Who will pay for it? You and I will. I don’t like to see folks not having health care but her way will make matters much much worse. Getting government too involved in health care will bring the standard down to levels I don’t even want to think about.

Obama: Now this educated man, who gives speeches even better then former president Bill Clinton, has lots to say but it has no substance. Have you ever really listened to what he says? I have and on the surface it might sound great until you really think about what it was he said. In my opinion the man does not have the experience to be our president. Oh and let’s not forget about his minister. I could not believe my ears after listening to some of this man’s preachings in church. You can’t tell me that if you didn’t believe in hate like this and you went into a church where the minister said these things that you would keep going back? Would I? Hell no, I would walk out right then and there.

To quote something said to me on this: “Honestly though I do think it is a problem that Obama sat under that kind of teaching for 17 years and now denies it had any affect on him. Impossible. And he had to have known about his pastor’s ideas. After all Obama is not stupid right?”

No he isn’t stupid. He is well educated. I have half a notion to think that Obama is the anti-Christ in disguise. He has charisma, is eloquent and everyone was ready to make him the king of the world. I don’t trust him. I think this man has an agenda for this country and it isn’t what he is telling us. Mark my words on this: If he doesn’t make it into the white house on this run, he isn’t done. We will see more of this man in a different way.

My friend and driving schoolmate Kris from Tennessee sent me a nice picture of a rainbow he captured out east. I am not quite sure where in the east he was but it is a nice picture. I can imagine with all the storms springtime brings out east he will see many more of these rainbows.

Thanks for the picture Kris!

I really do love winter. I love the snow and I really miss snowmobile riding but, I have to say that I am ready for spring and summer. Driving in the winter is ok as long as the roads are clear. I had lots of experience driving on snow-covered roads up in the UP of Michigan but driving a big truck in it can take the fun out.

Driving out here in what they call the “Western Eleven” has it’s share of challenges. Heck, some drivers from the East won’t even come out past Denver. This is mostly because of the 5 or 6 mountain passes that we have to deal with. Oh there are probably more then 5 or 6 but these are the ones that I have to deal with every week.

Snoqualmie running on I-90 east out of Seattle, 4th of July and Lookout also on I-90 in Idaho, Ashland Mt. and the Siskiyou pass on I-5 going from Oregon into California, Cabbage on I-84 going from western Oregon into Idaho and Donner Pass on I-80 from Reno to California. These are beautiful mountain passes and I can’t wait to see them again…without the SNOW. :) I have taken a few pictures, most of which are just snow covered trees in the mountains but here are a few of special mention.

Welcome to?

Welcome To WHERE? Actually this was entering Idaho from Montana on I-90. Nice snowbanks huh?

Runaway Ramp?

Well if the 4′ of snow on top of the 2′ of frozen gravel doesn’t stop your runaway truck… maybe the 6′ snowbank will?

Lastly I had to put in this picture of a beautiful golden sunset. I saw this as I drove south on I-84 into Oregon and had to capture it. Nice huh?
