Yes, it is true. I decided to give up the dry van division and go flatbed. Why, hell I don’t know but I am hoping that it means more miles. It will be lots of work strapping, chaining and tarping. In all weather conditions. I might really hate this when I am working out in the hot muggy days down in the south or in a torrential downpour but I should haul some interesting loads and get to even more interesting places. Maybe even out east.
With this change I got a new truck as well. It is a 2007 Freightliner. It is bigger and more plush inside. So far I like it but I have to see how it performs pulling heavy loads. I have posted a few pictures of it along with a few shots of my 3 person class tarping my first load in the photo gallery.
I have some new features loaded on my blog now. One of them is podcasting and the ability to link video files from sites like YouTube.com. Here is a video I did which was a music video of sorts using some live scenes and some from a game called World of Warcraft.
Included in the video are my son’s David and Eric and my niece Molly.
OH and yes, it was intended to be somewhat funny.

I have been getting tired of the old FireFox Theme I had so I decided to change things up a bit. I went out and surfed for some new themes for Wordpress and came up a few. This one I have up currently is called Space. Let me know if you like it. It has that Star Trek theme and you all know how much I like all the old and recent shows. I also have one that is of the Science type called Time1. I may bring that one up in a week after letting this one test run.
Let me know what you think!

With the help of my friend Josh, I have successfully added a few new pages for pictures. The old picture page was not really designed for that purpose so Josh was able to set me up properly. If you click on the Photo Gallery at the top right it will take you to a page where you can select from the three Galleries, Family Pictures, Pictures from the Road and Strange Pictures. I have begun adding the Family Pictures and it will continue. I about to begin adding pictures from the road that I have been collecting.
The Strange section is for those pictures that I find strange or interesting. They might come from anywhere… even drawings or computer generated stuff. If any of you have some that might fit into this section.. send them along~!
Hope you enjoy what I have collected and feel free to email me more at jfreeman@themainlan.com.

I am working on revamping my pictures page so that I can display some of the nice shots that I have plus the ones that my friends have been sending me. Check it out from time to time for some new ones!

I am really bummed today. It seems that I lost a bunch of really cool pictures in the transfer process to my PC. I had some of my own interesting shots plus, some from a couple of fellow drivers. I often do the drag and drop process when I transfer. I know, I know. I should do the automatic way by checking which ones I want to transfer then let the computer do it for me but, I like to drag and drop them into the proper folders. Somehow in the last “drag-n-drop” transfer I wasn’t dropping them in the proper spot and so they were not actually transferring. Then when I deleted them off the camera memory card they were lost for good.
I am not even sure at this point which pictures I actually lost. There were some nice shots of scenery and a few strange things I saw while driving on the open road. I remember one that was of a very large snow drift that was poised over the top of a mountain. This baby was a good 20 to 30 feet high and resembled a ocean wave about to break at a shore. It also appeared to be some 100 yards in length. I saw it as I was driving along highway 200 from Great Falls to Missoula Montana along Roger’s Pass. It is probably gone by now. Come to think of it, the drift might still be there. I mean it is only May in Montana!! Geesh, this state doesn’t really get a spring season! ![]()
I took this route in the first place so that I could stop by the High Country Trading Post in Lincoln, MT. I just had to stop in to restock my supply of what I consider the BEST Elk and Buffalo “beef” sticks known to man kind. These mouth watering meat cigars are to die for in my opinion. So many different flavors and styles. They also have a very nice gift shop where they sell crafts from all over the region.
I had a picture of their store too but that was also lost in my fumbling transfer attempt. So I will link their website in case any of you are interested in checking out their online store.
